CHAINSAW VICTIM MOVES ON TO 'THE RUINS'

Jonathan Tucker ('The Texas Chainsaw Massacre' (Remake)) will star in the adaptation of Scott B. Smith's horror Novel 'The Ruins'. The movie will be directed by Carter Smith ('Bugcrush'). Shooting starts in late May in Queensland, Australia. The movie is set for a may 2008 release.

Tucker will star as Jeff, a go-getter premed student, in the thriller about a group of friends whose leisurely Mexican holiday takes a turn for the worse when Jeff persuades them to accompany a fellow tourist on a remote archaeological dig in the jungle, where something evil lives among the ruins.
Hmm, a holiday trip turning bad and people getting lost in the wilderness where evil dwells ... now that is something we haven't seen before. The book was a bestseller, so not all hope is lost. We'll keep you posted on this one. - [frank]
