'HOSTEL' RELEASE DATE HAS MOVED

The Hollywood Reporter has learned that the release date of Eli Roth's ('Cabin Fever') new horror flick has been moved up from January 6 to December 21 for a christmas release. Roth seems to be pleased with the shift:
We’re a Christmas movie!. I can’t wait to find the family that got sold out of 'Fun with Dick and Jane' and went into 'Hostel' not knowing what it was. I’m really, really excited. We’re going out wide on the 21st, which I think is a great date. All the college kids will be home for break, and everything else out at that time is all family stuff and pretentious Oscar films. Plus, I heard the Academy’s adding a category called 'Most Sex and Violence Combined Into a Single Motion Picture', and I believe we have a real shot at getting nominated. I honestly am amazed at what the ratings board let us keep in. They’re really changing. They seem to get it. - [frank]
