Warum er die Fortsetzung machen wollte: Since I had created and designed the look and appearance of the killer from the ’03 film, I felt I had deeper understanding for this character. I understood his pain, his suffering and his desire and enthusiasm to kill. I began to develop a backstory behind his horrific appearance and personality, and the significance behind those tortured eyes. While directing and developing 2nd-unit shots for Tobe, I was exploring certain behavioral activities of this unfortunate creature. I kept all these thoughts in mind, thinking I just might write and direct a sequel someday. There is so much more to this creature than meets the eye.
