Romero has announced that his next project will be the adaptation of the Stephen King novel 'From A Buick 8'. I haven't read the story myself but according to Dan Whitehead from creature-corner.com the story is not at quite the level you would expect from a King novel:


This is kind of a weird choice though. Like most of King's recent output, From A Buick 8 is a sprawling and rather directionless tome, more like a good idea for a short story fleshed out into a novel before it was quite ready.



The story revolves around a mystical Buick which acts as a portal to another dimension. Yes, really. Sometimes people and things vanish or die near the car. Sometimes something nasty comes through from the other side. The venomous vehicle is in the custody of a bunch of state troopers, but when one of them is killed the others rally around his teenage son and let him in on their otherworldly secret. - [frank]
